Toyota Collaborates with Suzuki to Build Engine
Toyota Motor Corporation, the leader in making quality cars with great value and Isuzu Motors Limited, well-renowned truck maker in Japan, are collaborating to build a small engine for the European auto market. Toyota is taking advantage of the reputation made by Isuzu as the world0s famous maker of diesel engines. CNN reported that both Japanese car makers are only expanding their partnership which has started last November.
Isuzu will make small engines for Toyota Motor Corporation to help strengthen the reputation of Toyota as the world0s largest production line-up. Toyota is planning to reach 10 million units of car production before the year 2009 ends. The partnership with Isuzu will boost the possibility of the Japanese giant automaker achieving that goal faster.
The collaboration of the two famous auto makers is set to result in a 1.6 liter aluminum engine which is going to be used to most of the cars built by Toyota. The collaboration will start building this small engine starting 2012.
Yasuaki Iwamoto, the Okasan Securities analyst was quoted saying, “Toyota has never been a clear front-runner when it comes to diesel engines… But Isuzu’s diesel engine resources will help Toyota get that missing piece.0
